Mi Primer Bitcoin, or My First Bitcoin, has recently revealed details for its upcoming fourth Bitcoin Educators Unconference. The event will take place in the original city of its inception rather than in Nashville.

A Return to Roots for Bitcoin Educators

Mi Primer Bitcoin (MPB) is a non-profit based in El Salvador dedicated to educating people globally about Bitcoin (BTC). The organization is notable for organizing the Bitcoin Educators Unconference, which attracts notable figures and enthusiasts from across the globe.

MPB announced the next Unconference will return to San Salvador, the location of its inaugural event last year. It is set for two months from now.

Following the events in Madeira and Nashville, this Unconference will be hosted at the Cadejo Brewing Company on November 14 at 10:00 AM (GMT-6), just a day before the Adopting Bitcoin conference begins in the city.

The event expects around 150 participants who can also take on the role of speakers. Attendees may present their ideas at the start of the day, with activities designed to embody the spirit of Bitcoin.

Reflecting the decentralized and collaborative essence of the gathering, participants will have a chance to network with industry leaders and engage in fruitful discussions.

Past conferences have featured industry experts such as Jeff Booth, Preston Pysh, Ben Perrin, and Natalie Brunell, along with educators and enthusiasts from various regions.

Growth of the BTC Diploma Program

Launched in early 2022, MPB’s Bitcoin Diploma program aims to promote education in various aspects of BTC, including its origin and the challenges it faces.

The program has flourished, educating over 30,000 students in El Salvador in the past three years. Furthermore, the 2023 workbook has reached 23 languages and is being taught independently from South America to Asia.

Recently, MPB announced a further expansion of its workbook into Zambia, with translations into Nyanja, Bemba, Tonga, and Lozi languages facilitated by another organization.

Additionally, MPB has partnered with El Salvador’s Ministry of Education to enhance financial literacy and BTC adoption. The initiative aims to integrate the Bitcoin diploma syllabus into the national educational system.

The goal is to train 700 public school teachers to effectively deliver the BTC curriculum. As of April, approximately 100 educators had completed the program, and in September, another 100 began their training in a 10-week course.
