Story is enhancing the efficiency of the legal framework for creative Intellectual Property (IP) by utilizing the blockchain to make IP “programmable.”
They have established Story Network, a versatile layer 1 blockchain that enables individuals and programs to license, remix, and monetize IP based on clear terms defined by the creators themselves.
The Story Protocol is built on three key components: POC – Proof of Creativity, PIL – Programmable IP License, and Story Network L1.
The POC – Proof of Creativity component allows creators and IP holders to tokenize their intellectual property on the network, set usage rules and royalties, and achieve ownership certification on the blockchain.
The Programmable IP License (PIL) serves as a universal contract that converts any IP into code, ensuring compatibility among all IPs and fostering an ecosystem of intellectual property, while the Story Network L1 processes all data and transactions as a layer-one blockchain.
This initiative has ventured into Web3 to tokenize and share Real World Assets (RWAs) recognized as IP, facilitating profit generation and revenue distribution for their owners.
Story Protocol has successfully raised $140 million during several seed funding rounds. The project’s final testnet, named “Odyssey,” is currently operational.
You can access the testnet page, link your wallet, and perform tasks to engage with the testnet. Nearly 100 ecosystem collaborators are developing applications on Odyssey.
Participants engaging with the testnet might become candidates for an airdrop if they choose to launch one in the foreseeable future.

- Visit the Story Foundation faucet to receive some test tokens.
- Add the Odyssey Testnet to your Wallet.
- Claim your test tokens.
- Mint the Iliad launch IP asset.
- They are also hosting an Odyssey badge campaign where users can mint badges from various projects listed on their ecosystem page.
- These badges are SBT non-transferable and may play a part in an airdrop.
- Look for projects with the blue odyssey tag or filter them under “odyssey partners,” then access each project to complete tasks and claim their badges.
- Users engaging with the testnet could qualify for an airdrop if their token is launched.
- Keep in mind that there is no assurance of an airdrop or the issuance of their own token; it remains purely speculative.
