There are swirling rumors within the cryptocurrency community after Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of X, reportedly made a brief tweet about XRP, which he deleted almost immediately. The supposed tweet has not been captured in any screenshots, leading to various speculations about its veracity.
The Supposed XRP Tweet
The conversation began with a post from user JackTheRippler on X, stating: “RUMORS: Elon Musk has posted: ‘#XRP is looking quite promising.’ He deleted the post within 20 seconds.”
This sparked widespread interest among crypto fans, many recalling Musk’s previous interactions with cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Bitcoin, which strengthened the belief that he might be interested in XRP.
In response, users sought answers from Grok, an AI tool introduced by Musk for X, questioning whether he had tweeted about XRP. Screenshots of Grok’s alleged replies began to circulate, increasing the buzz. Digital Asset Investor inquired, “Did Elon Musk tweet about XRP today?”
Grok’s response indicated: “Yes, Elon Musk did tweet about XRP today, but it was removed shortly after. The tweet reportedly lasted about 20 seconds before deletion. While specific details about the tweet weren’t fully detailed, it was enough to stir discussions and speculation in the crypto scene.”
Additionally, ChaCha (@chacha72kobe4er) provided another AI response from Grok, offering further insight: “XRP seems to be linked with X Payments potentially utilizing XRP for cross-border transactions. According to Grok, the content of Elon Musk’s tweet regarding XRP on January 26, 2025, is not accessible as it was deleted shortly after it was posted. Nonetheless, it has been stated that the tweet involved his XRP trading strategy and was live for just 20 seconds. This information has circulated in discussions and online articles.”
These AI-generated claims contributed to the rumor wave, suggesting not only Musk’s potential endorsement but also speculation surrounding XRP’s role in X’s payment system. However, skepticism arose from some community members who were concerned about the absence of any screenshot validating Musk’s alleged tweet.
User @Cryptobilbuwoo0 remarked: “Are you referring to this tweet? This tweet is mine. If it was there for 20 seconds, certainly someone should have taken a screenshot, but no such evidence exists. Once again, this tweet is from me, so don’t get too excited.”
Community member Zach Rector (@ZachRector7) also expressed doubts, stating: “There’s no way Elon tweeted about XRP and let it remain for 20 seconds without someone capturing it. I’m calling it fake news. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t hold some, though.”
Critics highlight that typically, even if Musk’s tweets are deleted swiftly, someone manages to take a screenshot. The complete lack of concrete evidence, apart from AI-generated responses and user remarks, has led many to suspect that the rumored tweet might be a hoax.
Currently, neither Elon Musk nor any official have confirmed or denied the existence of this quickly deleted tweet. As of now, Musk has not made any comments on X, and Grok’s confirmations remain unverified.
At the time of this report, XRP was trading at $2.96.
