The flagship digital currency was prominently displayed on the world’s largest LED screen in celebration of Crypto.com’s anniversary. However, this exhibit ignited a debate over Dogwifhat’s initiative to feature the meme coin in the Sphere.
Bitcoin’s Spectacular Display in Las Vegas Strip
On a Sunday evening, the Las Vegas skyline was illuminated by the presence of the world’s largest cryptocurrency for about a minute and a half on the Sphere’s massive LED screens. This spherical venue boasts the most extensive interior and exterior wraparound LED displays globally, valued at $2.3 billion.
A captivating video showcased a prominent Bitcoin logo taking over the Las Vegas Strip, transforming into spinning golden coins adorned with the BTC emblem. Consequently, Bitcoin became the first cryptocurrency ever to be featured on the screens of the Sphere.
The display was organized by the crypto exchange Crypto.com in honor of its eighth anniversary. The exchange shared a snippet of the video on various social media platforms, expressing its admiration for the protocol that laid the foundation for its operations.

Members of the community also commended this milestone achievement. Some lauded the advertising efforts of the crypto exchange, describing it as a significant step towards promoting adoption. Moreover, Micostrategy’s co-founder Michael Saylor reacted to the news on social media, indicating that Bitcoin’s ubiquitous presence is becoming a norm.
Status of the Sphere WIF Hat Initiative
Following the Bitcoin ad, community members engaged in discussions regarding the Dogwifhat community project aiming to feature the memecoin sensation in the Las Vegas Sphere. One user pointed out that Bitcoin made it to the Sphere before the dogwifhat initiative.
In March, a fundraising campaign began to showcase WIF on the world’s largest LED screen for a week. The “Wif on Sphere” campaign sought to gather $650,000 for this display, a target swiftly met by the enthusiastic community. The fundraising goal was surpassed by nearly $50,000 within days.
This achievement fueled bullish momentum for the token, propelling its price to a new all-time high of $3.36. It also highlighted the strong backing of the WIF community, the popularity of meme coins, and the innovative marketing strategies within the crypto community.
However, several months later, the promised “Sphere WIF hat” display in Las Vegas has yet to materialize. Many donors who contributed to the initiative have raised concerns about the organizers, including crypto trader Ansem, facing substantial criticism for delays in fulfilling the campaign commitments.
While some donors suspect they have been deceived, others doubt the feasibility of the crypto ad and have requested refunds. Despite skepticism, the organizers have reassured the community of their ongoing efforts to execute the “wif on Sphere” exhibition soon.
As noted by some individuals, the recent Bitcoin advertising by Crypto.com may have paved the way for the WIF campaign. Concerns were raised about the reluctance of many venues to display crypto-related advertisements due to regulatory concerns, potentially posing a challenge for community-driven initiatives.
