The Catizen game on Telegram has announced the launch date for its highly anticipated CATI token, which will be created on The Open Network (TON). The token, initially delayed from its original July release, is now scheduled to launch on September 20, coinciding with the launch of other game tokens on Telegram like Hamster Kombat and Rocky Rabbit.

Bybit, a crypto exchange, confirmed on September 7 that it will list the CATI token for spot trading on September 20 and shared the news on its platform. Catizen also confirmed this date through its official channels. Spot trading for the tokens will only begin after the token generation event (TGE) is completed to guarantee all transactions are live and official.

Catizen has gathered a significant following with its unique approach to in-game progress, offering players the chance to earn a portion of an upcoming airdrop. With the official launch date of the CATI token confirmed, players can anticipate the airdrop to happen on the same day as the token release or shortly after. Catizen hinted at a major upcoming event or announcement on September 21, leading to speculation that this might be the date for starting airdrop claims.

The announcement about listing CATI came after pre-market trading for the token expanded on various exchanges. On September 7, OKX crypto exchange began offering pre-market trading for CATI. Currently, at the time of this writing, CATI is trading at $0.4377 on OKX, slightly lower than its pre-market prices on other exchanges such as Bitget ($0.46) and Bybit ($0.53).

Pre-market trading lets traders speculate on the future token value before its official launch, although it carries risk, especially with gaming and meme coins where tokenomics and airdrop details may not be fully disclosed. Such volatility can result in unexpected price fluctuations when the token enters the market. A recent instance was with the Notcoin game which had pre-market trading for its NOT token, reaching a high price but settling close to the initial value post-launch.

The expansion of pre-market trading for CATI token coincided with mounting excitement for the token launch, previously delayed by the game’s developer, Pluto Studio, due to challenges in the planning phase. Now, after overcoming the delay, Catizen players have a confirmed launch date, stirring up anticipation. This token launch aligns with other Telegram-based games launching tokens in September like Hamster Kombat on September 26 and Rocky Rabbit around the same time. X Empire (formerly Musk Empire) is also gearing up for a token launch this month.
