Last week, ZachXBT, a popular on-chain investigator on crypto Twitter, revealed that he was being sued for defamation. This came after he exposed a popular figure last year. The tweet received widespread sympathy for Zach, and public opinion has once again shifted in his favor. This was especially true when it was discovered that the plaintiff, Jeffrey Huang, also known as Machi Big Brother online, had bought a $25 million mansion in Los Angeles amidst the ongoing lawsuit.
Jeffrey Huang’s $25 Million Mansion
While the defamation lawsuit between Jeffrey Huang, also known as Machi Big Brother, and ZachXBT continues, news of a recent purchase made by Huang has emerged. According to a report, Huang reportedly purchased a Los Angeles mansion worth $25 million.
The report included a screenshot of the sale information, revealing that the California home spans 14,000 square feet and features five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It states that Huang acquired the mansion for $25 million last week, around the same time as he served the lawsuit to ZachXBT.
The news of this purchase has sparked discussion within the crypto community, with some questioning the validity of Huang’s claims that Zach’s article financially harmed him, considering his ability to purchase such an expensive property.
Images of the mansion showcase a lavish and luxurious property designed by the Vantage Design Group. Situated in the sought-after Bird Streets location in Los Angeles, the mansion sits on a 0.51-acre lot.
ZachXBT Receives $1 Million for Legal Battle Against Machi Big Brother
In response to Huang’s lawsuit, ZachXBT took to Twitter to seek support and donations to fund his legal defense. He estimated the costs could reach up to $1 million. Within days, donations to Zach’s wallet surpassed the $1 million mark, as reported here.
Huang’s lawsuit revolves around a Medium article published in 2022. The article alleged that Huang, previously a music executive, was involved in multiple scam projects that defrauded investors of over 22,000 ETH. It also detailed ten projects in which millions of dollars were embezzled.
It is still early in the lawsuit, and the outcome remains uncertain. However, Zach has received overwhelming support from the crypto community for his efforts to expose bad actors and make the space safer. This support has come in the form of both small and large donations, as well as numerous tweets pledging solidarity with the on-chain investigator.
