Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, announced that it has chosen Dublin as its European headquarters. The decision to utilize Ireland as a key hub for expansion was made due to Ireland’s impressive talent pool, strong regulatory framework, and well-established technology community.
This decision has been supported by IDA Ireland, who called Gemini’s move a strong testament to Ireland’s advantageous business environment. As a virtual asset service provider, Gemini can facilitate exchanges between virtual and fiat currencies and various cryptocurrencies, in addition to offering custodian wallets for crypto assets.
Gemini maintains approximately twelve employees in its Dublin office but seeks to expand its team significantly following the recent approval of the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation by the European Council. The company aims to capitalize on the growing market for crypto assets, driving the need for additional skilled professionals to support its operations and continue growth in Dublin.
