Ripple Faces Backlash from XRP Ledger Developers for Edited Podcast Clip

Ripple Xrp Ledger Developers Outrage

Ripple has come under fire from the XRP Ledger (XRPL) developer community for altering a podcast clip. The edited segment, part of Ripple’s new podcast series discussing the launch of the stablecoin RLUSD, featured CTO David Schwartz and Ripple President Monica Long.

The controversy arose from a specific edit to a statement by Monica Long. In the original podcast, Long highlighted the developer engagement on the XRP Ledger, mentioning the presence of thousands of developers working on projects. However, in the edited version on YouTube, this mention was conspicuously removed.

The community, led by XRPL Ambassador Daniel “No” Keller, expressed dismay over the altered clip. Keller voiced his confusion and disappointment in a tweet directed at Schwartz and Long, questioning the decision to edit the podcast and omit the reference to thousands of developers.

Keller’s frustration reflects the broader sentiment within the developer community, who feel neglected by Ripple’s actions. He emphasized the need for honesty and transparency, accusing Ripple of failing to prioritize the community’s interests.

This incident has deepened the divide between Ripple and XRPL developers, with many questioning Ripple’s commitment to supporting and engaging with the developer ecosystem.

While some community members like Stephen Chip criticized Ripple for lack of focus on supporting developers, others like dUNL validator Vet defended Ripple, suggesting that the edit may have been made to correct a possible overstatement.
