Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie (@LucieSHIB), has announced the initiation of the closed beta phase for Shiba Eternity Web3. This game, operating on the Shibarium network, aims to transition the collectible card game to the web3 realm through its migration to the Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain.
Exclusive Access for the Shiba Inu Community
A statement by Angel from the Shiba Eternity team indicates that the closed beta launch is planned for “this week.” The initial version offers an exclusive gaming experience for participants in the Shiba Inu token ecosystem. Access to the beta necessitates players to stake LEASH tokens through Shibaswap. This staking condition acts as a barrier to entry while fostering a closely-knit community known as the “ShibArmy elite,” as coined by Lucie.
After the primary release, access to Shiba Eternity will extend to holders of at least one Shiboshi, Sheboshi, or Shiba Eternity Lore NFT. This move broadens the player base and boosts engagement within the Shiba Inu community. Tying game access to NFT ownership adds value and utility to the tokens, serving as a significant use case.
The community has responded eagerly to these updates. Shib Mehta (@shib_mehta) mentioned that the game is already accessible, which was confirmed by Lucie along with a playful response featuring a Shiba Inu dog image.
Lucie explained the profound effects enhanced gameplay would have on the Shiba Inu ecosystem, highlighting increased transactions on Shibarium, more BONE utilization, higher SHIB burns, and elevated demand for Shiboshis. She stressed the importance of each token in the Shib ecosystem for its growth and sustainability.
The introduction of the Web3 version of Shiba Eternity allows players to own in-game assets, heightening the gaming experience’s tangibility and value. Utilizing Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) for all transactions facilitates the strategic burning of SHIB tokens. Upcoming features such as ranked tournaments, gameplay improvements, and NFT minting will further enrich the gaming experience and integrate it closely with the crypto elements of the Shibarium network.
