Storj and zkSync Era Collaborate to Enhance Decentralized Storage Payments

Storj And Zksync Era Partner To Improve Decentralized Storage Payments-Bitrabo

Storj, a provider of decentralized cloud storage and zkSync Era, an Ethereum layer-2 protocol, have teamed up to improve decentralized storage payments. The collaboration aims to leverage zkSync Era’s zero-knowledge roll-up technology to optimize transaction speed, lower gas fees, and enhance the overall efficiency of the payment process on a cloud storage platform.

Storj Teams Up With zkSync Era

Storj is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible decentralized cloud storage solution. It provides users with an adaptable storage experience based on their requirements. The client base of Storj comprises Gabb Wireless, Pocket Network, iXsystems, Atempo, and the University of Edinburgh.

Considering the present rush in the crypto industry to develop roll-up upgrades, the cloud service provider intends to upgrade its services and platforms through its partnership with zkSync Era, taking advantage of the benefits of zero-knowledge proofs to improve scalability and efficiency through a decentralized approach.

As a scaling protocol on Ethereum’s layer-2, zkSync Era introduced the zero-knowledge approach, making it possible to consolidate several transactions into a compressed data block. This facilitated greater speed, reduced cost, and increased throughput over the Ethereum mainnet.

As part of the development, the decentralized cloud provider will maintain two open-source libraries that will simplify users’ seamless onboarding to the network of zkSync Era. These additional libraries include Crypto-Batch-Payment and Storjscan. The upgrade will also enhance the capacity of decentralized storage payments to be EVM-compatible, providing users with more flexible and decentralized options.

Improving Scalability and Adoption

Ben Golub, CEO of Storj, expressed satisfaction with the adoption of zkSync, stating it provides users and their node community with an optimal transaction experience, allowing Storj to remain a trailblazer in decentralized infrastructure technologies.

Commenting on the collaboration, Marco Cora, the Head of Business Development at Matter Labs, the team responsible for developing zkSync, stated that it is thrilling to see projects such as Storj enhancing the overall scalability of their network for decentralized applications by providing fast, secure, and cheaper decentralized storage to more people worldwide by integrating with zkSync Era.
